So, on the old blog I had this fun thing called “Hugs + Duds” where I pretty much shared about the cool and not-so-cool stuff going on. I thought that should continue into this blog, so here you have it!
It’s funny– you would think by mid-November that fall would almost be over. It’s been so long since I’ve lived in a place that had turning leaves and a chill in the air (in October!) that I’m experiencing this season with fresh eyes. (Those eyes are pretty watery, though, as I’m learning that I’m allergic to fall and those beautiful falling leaves.)
so… this month’s HUGS go to:
BEAUTIFUL drives to work (and anywhere)! The trees are so, so pretty. I mean REALLY pretty. I can’t really do them any justice with a picture, because you turn around, and oh yes– there are more pretty trees and leaves!
Matisyahu: The fantastic American Hasidic Jewish Reggae musician, came to Durham last night! His music is so unique, and just plain good! Mike and I were so pumped that we had tickets. What a fun show. (Don’t hate on the point and shoot photo now…)
Progressive Dinners. Our church’s young adults are doing a progressive dinner this Friday. At a progressive dinner you simply start one course (say, appetizers) at one location… then “progress” to the next home/restaurant for the main course, and so on for dessert. We’ll be crashing homes and getting to know our hosts– and each other– all over yummy food!
Of course, with hugs also come DUDS:
Seasonal Allergies. need I really say more?
Daylight Savings. well, actually, this is only half a dud– I enjoy how light it is in the morning. It makes it a lot easier to wake up, that’s for sure… but going home in the dark is SO depressing!
I only have two… can it be a dud that I can’t come up with duds? Nah, I think that’s a hug in itself! Happy almost-weekend, all!
