Triangle Down Syndrome Network

This week, I had the pleasure of attending the Triangle Down Syndrome Network‘s “Duke Research Symposium Series.”   This particular talk was all about biobanks and the research that is being developed about Down Syndrome.

My vested interest in this group comes from my oldest nephew, Spencer, who was born with Down Syndrome.  He’s 8 years old, and about the sweetest little guy you’ve ever met.  My brother and sis-in-law are pretty active with their DS guild over in Kansas City, so I thought it would be great to get involved here!

This is Leigh, the director, on the left.  She was so friendly and runs things so well!  Jane Anne, on the right, works in research to make strides to help people with DS.

I’m looking forward to working more with the lovely folks from TDSN.  It was a lovely, informative evening!

**Here’s a shot I snagged of Spencer and Brandon (my nephews) Christmas 2009.  I love those boys!!
