This week, I get to cross one more thing of that ol’ 101 list!
63. Go on a trip with just me and my mom

I’m so thankful I was able to take this trip with my mama. It was wonderful to go back and visit Hope Town, where I used to live and work for two years. My sweet friend, Lisa, now works as the Family Life and Youth Minister there and is doing a fantastic job! It was incredible to go back and see everyone again.

I told my mom that going back and visiting the youth gave me a little taste of what it must be like to be a grandparent: I was able to enjoy the best moments, play with all the youth, and have a great time with everyone… and get to let Lisa be in charge of it all! She is so creative and wonderful at what she does, and I am so PROUD of her!
Ashley (who had this job before me) and I both remember moments like this:

We were really lucky to get to have a preview lunch at the new restaurant/resort, Firefly. We got to go because our friend, Steven, is working there as sioux chef and gave me the heads up about a lunch opportunity! Ernest really has done a wonderful job with the place, and has incorporated some new and creative items on the menu. My favorites were definitely the yummy crab dip and the key lime pie… in a JAR! Mmmmmmm.

One huuuuge treat I had while in Hope Town was seeing my friends, Heather and Andrew, and their brand-new baby! They came back from the states just a day before we left to GO to the states, so it was really neat to get to see them (and take a couple photos of sweet little Fina!).

There was so much beauty all around on this trip– both visible and in the people I visited. I’m incredibly thankful for a chance to visit my former home, and I am already looking forward to my next visit!
