Ok, so this particular one on my 101 list I’m doing again… because this time it’s more significant than last time:
24. Cut my hair short
Not only did I do the cut this time, but I’m admitting to myself that North Carolina humidity just isn’t doing it for my curls these days. That’s right! I’m embracing my hair’s straightness. Something about living in Florida and the Bahamas really brought out that curl, and I’ve received lots of comments such as this since moving here:
“Do you straighten your hair now?”
“What happened to your hair?”
Well, I’ve always been a proponent of embracing what you have… so instead of scrunching tirelessly, here’s the new look:
I was so excited to find a great new place to go in Durham– Carmen! Carmen! No, I’m not just excited… that’s their name. Rebecca did a wonderful job, and she came highly recommended to me by not one, but two of my friends here. She talked me through why my hair didn’t curl back up with less weight, and she had a better idea of what I needed than I did!

So, yes, it was still remotely curly, but not as much as before.
Hooray for changes and great hairstylists!
