Oh, the poor, neglected 101 list. Between moving and embracing summer’s arrival, I haven’t paid much attention to you… until now! I’m glad to check another one off the list:
14. Go on a spontaneous trip
I had almost forgotten that this one was even on there! But when my friend asked me to come with her to Knoxville to visit family– and head north to Wilmore, KY to visit friends– I was all for it! Something you should know: spontaneity is not my strong suit. My husband, Mike, is great with rolling with the punches and making things up as he goes, but I am definitely a planner. There must be something in the summer air that brought out my carefree nature, because I had such a great time!
We got to see some friends from college who now attend Asbury Theological Seminary. Some of our friends are parents (and soon-to-be parents!) which is so sweet.

We laughed a lot…

It was as if time hadn’t gone by at all, and we were all still college roommates, quipping from movies and spending time together.
We all took a tour of Asbury, and conveniently one of our friends actually gives tours as a job! Pretty perfect to get to hear all about the history that goes along with the place. It was my first time visiting, so I was delighted to see all the chapels, classrooms, preaching practice rooms, and other fun nooks and crannies of Asbury.

Back in Knoxville, I was thankful to hang out with my friend’s parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles… I felt like one of the family! It was such a joy to spend time with this delightful, fun-loving group of people. I also was lucky enough to meet the sweetest boxer in the whole world. Meet Kahlua, the puppy with boundless energy!

This is one thing on the 101 list that I should strive to do more than just once in these 1001 days. Sometimes adding a little spontaneity will bring rich memories into your life!
